Awareness day 2013: Cancer Support and Complementary Care

Complementary care refers to treatments that are used along with regular medical care. Some treatments that are used along with regular treatment are meditation to reduce stress, acupuncture to help relieve pain, or peppermint tea to relieve nausea.

Some complementary methods are known to help, while others have not been tested. Examples: Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Yoga, herbal therapies, special diets …

13.20Tai Chi/Chi Gong Maria Pearce The 1st demonstration will cover the basic stance, warm-up exercises to unblock the spine and open all the joints followed by a 13 movement form invented by Mantak Chia, a Thai master.  The 2nd will be the same stance, warm-ups followed by a more traditional 24 movement form in the Yang style.
13.40Meridien Stretches Claudia Zackariya-Dau Each organ in the body has an energy channel. By practicing simple stretches, we are able to balance each of the organs in the body and give our internal body a workout at the same time as our muscles! Using simple breathing techniques and stretches, this practice is open to everyone.
14.00Introduction to Ayurveda Dr Santokh Singh A simple introduction to this 6000 year old practice coming from India. Comprising yogic breathing, nutrition, and simple adjustments to our daily practices, we are able to balance the body and bring it into health and wellness.
14.20Visualisation/Imagery Claudia Zackariya-Dau Imagery and visualisation exercises are a very effective and accessible form of bringing a sense of wellbeing to the body and effecting positive health. By starting with focusing on the breath, we are able to move through to a deeper sense of relaxation and enable the body’s innate ability to rejuvenate.

1 day Ayurvedic workshop

Dr Acharya is making a special stopover on his way from India and will hold a 1 day Ayurvedic workshop focusing on health and our constitution, on Saturday the 5th of October. It will be an intimate gathering with private consultations available on Friday the 4th of October and Sunday the 6th of October (private consulation will take place at my house, 965 Chaussee de Waterloo, 1180 Brussels).

If you have loved ones or friends that are in need of some extra help with their health and wellbeing, please know that you are very welcome to bring them along.

We already have several bookings, so do contact me as soon as possible to confirm your space and to book an available consultation.
